Call for a postdoc!

Now, RIKEN is calling for applications for the position of Special Postdoctoral Researcher (SPDR) for FY 2021.

Also, we can employ one junior postdoc (within around 5 years after getting PhD) in my laboratory now.

A new co-authored article has been published in Cell Reports.
This study reveals the molecular mechanisms of retroviral silencing associated with pluripotency and reprogramming and is mainly done by Gene regulation Lab in University of Tsukuba (my former lab).

This study establishes the knock-in mice in UCP1 locus to illuminate the brown and beige fat tissues in living animals and mainly done by gene regulation laboratory (my former lab) in University of Tsukuba.

An intern student has joined our team!

An intern student, Dorian Luijkx, in the Master Course of Utrecht University, has joined our team. He will stay and do experiments until next July in our lab. Good luck and have fun with us!

RIKEN Junior Research Associate Program Is Now Open

RIKEN Junior Research Associate program is now open. This program is to give salary for PhD students who are working in RIKEN laboratory and are enrolled in PhD course in Japanese University. This time is for those starting from April or October next year.

If you are eligible and interested in our laboratory research, please email me. Since the application deadline is November 8th, please contact me as soon as possible.

Appointment of Associate Professor (Cooperative Graduate School Program) in Faculty of Medicine, University of Tsukuba

I’m appointed as an associate professor (cooperative graduate school program) in Faculty of Medicine, University of Tsukuba.
I’ll give lectures and training programs for the graduate students in the PhD course in biomedical sciences.

Tsukuba Encouragement Award (Young researchers division)

I will be awarded Tsukuba Encouragement Award (Young researchers division) from the Science and Technology Promotion Foundation of Ibaraki.

This award is given to “Researchers who carrying out current research in the prefecture(age below 40), and with potential to achieve significant research results”.

The ceremony with my lecture will be held on November 13.

Invited lecture at Society for In Vitro Biology

On June 9, I gave an invited lecture at Society for In Vitro Biology in Tampa , Florida, USA. I introduced my studies and our bioresource entitled “Disease Modeling Using Disease-specific iPS Cell Collection in RIKEN Cell Bank”.
